Fisheries Science

Wave is a second year PhD student in the Heppell Lab. She researches fish community dynamics in Oregon's kelp forests using in-situ SCUBA surveys and eDNA analysis. 

Abdullah Alkinani is a Ph.D. student in Fisheries, Wildlife, and Conservation Sciences at Oregon State University. His research focuses on freshwater ecology and biological invasions, investigating interactions among non-native Smallmouth Bass (Micropterus dolomieu), native Signal Crayfish, and invasive crayfish species in Oregon rivers. Using field surveys and controlled experiments, his work examines how predation and competition shape community structure and ecosystem processes in invaded freshwater systems.
